ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ Remembers September 11, 2001

Today at 12 noon, the University of Louisiana at Monroe Student Government Association held a ceremony to remember and reflect on the events of September 11, 2001 as well as pay tribute to the men and women of the military who serve our country. ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ Assistant to the President Dr. Richard Hood welcomed the crowd of approximately 200 students, faculty, and staff.

At the event the ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ ROTC posted the colors followed by Taps, played a ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ student, and a time of reflection.

The names of United States military personnel close to or part of the ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ family were read in appreciation of their service.

Mark Robinson, Director of the ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ Baptist College Ministry, followed with an uplifting message and prayer for the families of the victims of 9-11, our country, the military, and the ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ campus. The ceremony was concluded with the SGA President, Kayla Haltom, and Vice President, Leslie Citizen, releasing two white doves; one for hope and one for peace.
