Walsworth, Cofer, students participate in "Big Switch" March 27

On Tuesday, March 27, Rep. Mike Walsworth will be furiously taking notes during class, while a ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ student is managing a state representative’s duties during ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½'s "Big Switch."

Of the swap Walsworth said, "Sometimes the public and the media concentrates more on politics than public service. My hope for 'trading places for a day' is that it might give insight to the public service side of being a state representative."

The swap is part of ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½'s 17th Annual Big Switch, a free event that allows students to swap schedules with a campus or community leader from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. The 31 Ambassadors, ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½'s alumni student-service organization, sponsors the event.

"This event provides a unique opportunity for students and our campus and community leaders to gain insight into each other's daily routine," said Molly Pealer, assistant director of alumni programs at ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½.

The following leaders will participate:

Names will be drawn Thursday, March 22. A luncheon for participants will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 12:15 p.m. in the ÐÒ¸£±¦µ¼º½ Alumni Center.
